Putzmeister Iontron 36 (M36-i) – Hybrid-electric truck-mounted concrete pump
)
This 26-tonne, 36-metre truck-mounted concrete pump combines conventional capability with hybrid-electric functionality, giving contractors the option to run pours on electric power where a suitable supply is available.
The Iontron 36 has been designed to reduce on-site emissions and noise by operating electrically when conditions allow, while still retaining the flexibility of diesel power for everyday fleet use. Its hybrid approach is particularly valuable in situations where environmental and community considerations are critical, such as urban sites, night work, and other sensitive locations.
Visitors to the Showcase will gain an understanding of how hybrid pumping works in practice. Camfaud’s team will highlight the planning involved, the power sources typically required, and how operator workflow adapts when using electric mode. The emphasis will be on how these systems can be integrated into existing fleets without disrupting normal operations.
Luke van Spall, Group Transport & Compliance Manager at Camfaud, said: “Our aim at PlantWorx is to make the technology tangible—showing how hybrid electric pumping can cut local emissions and noise on real pours, not just in a brochure.”
Brendan Murphy, Commercial Director at Camfaud, added: “The Iontron 36 helps bridge today’s operational needs with tomorrow’s sustainability goals by adding an electric option where sites can provide power.”
Through its contribution to the Site Sustainability Showcase, Camfaud will focus on sharing practical knowledge in line with the event’s non-commercial, educational brief—helping contractors understand what hybrid pumping means for real-world projects.
