About Manitou Group

Manitou’s story started back in 1957 when Marcel Braud came up with a practical fix for moving materials on tough ground: attaching a lifting mast and hydraulic steering to an agricultural tractor. That invention became the world’s first rough-terrain forklift - the MC5, launched in 1958.

From those French roots, Manitou has grown into a global business operating in over 140 countries. Today, we design and build a full range of telehandlers including roto and heavy lift, access platforms, warehouse and compact earthmoving kit for construction, farming, and industry. Our focus remains the same as it was in 1957: building reliable machines that keep sites running safely and efficiently.
