Genquip-Groundhog, a leading manufacturer of sustainable welfare units and temporary accommodation units and a long-term supporter of the Plantworx event, has been given the accolade of a ‘CSR World Leader’ alongside an award of ‘Green Champion’ for their iRange of low-emission site welfare units.
Genquip-Groundhog was presented with their trophies and certificates at the Houses of Parliament in front of an audience from all over the globe.
As part of the CSR award entry, Genquip-Groundhog put forward their energy-saving, all-inclusive Unisex SolarLoo, which is a combined male and female toilet system that is designed for use on construction sites. The Unisex SolarLoo power is from a combination of solar and battery power and therefore emits ultra-low emissions.
The company also featured its online ‘Virtual Showroom.’ Genquip-Groundhog believes that the use of their ‘Virtual Showroom’ cuts down on energy-consuming and expensive journeys to the Genquip-Groundhog actual showroom in order to view their range of products.
Genquip-Groundhog is a five-star Considerate Construction supplier which serves to improve the image of the construction industry whilst simultaneously encouraging young people, and especially more women, into the industry. Having safe, comfortable, and sustainable welfare facilities helps with this aim.
The CSR Excellence and Green Apple Awards are run by The Green Organisation - an international, independent, non-profit, non-political environment group that began in 1994 to recognise, reward, and promote social responsibility best practice around the world. Every carbon footprint caused by winners and their guests is offset by the planting of trees in cooperation with Green Earth Appeal and the United Nations.
Genquip-Groundhog is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of mobile and static welfare accommodation units, producing a wide range of environmentally weighted products used widely throughout the hire, event, rail, and construction markets. Genquip-Groundhog operates from a modern; state-of-the-art manufacturing facility based in South Wales. The production lines and offices are powered partially by recently installed solar panels. In addition, Genquip-Groundhog has engaged The Grantham Centre for Sustainable Futures, part of the University of Sheffield (https://grantham.sheffield.ac.uk/), to draw up a carbon reduction plan, which will be fully implemented when completed.
The Plantworx team would like to congratulate Peter Beach and the Groundhog-Genquip team on winning two awards and we look forward to seeing the award-winning entries and more from the company's green range at Plantworx 2023 (13th - 15th June 2023, East of England Arena, Peterborough).
