AVANT POWER leaps to the forefront of innovative battery technology

Avant Tecno, the Finnish compact loader manufacturer, has introduced its new subsidiary, Avant Power, which aims to revolutionise the world of battery technology. The company has produced battery packs for their fully electric Avant machines, which are set to debut at the Plantworx exhibition, held from 13th to 15th June 2023, at the East of England Arena, Peterborough, UK on stands: C-NC10 & C-NC9

The two new loader models, Avant e5-27 and Avant e5-13, come equipped with Avant OptiTemp batteries with a capacity of 27kWh and 13kWh respectively. These batteries have a globally unique thermal management system and are twice the size of other manufacturers’ products. With a fully charged battery, the Avant e5-27 allows a whole workday with one charge, making it an attractive option for industries that require continuous and uninterrupted work.

According to Mikko Piepponen, Chief Operating Officer at Avant Power Oy, the company has been conducting research and development related to electric loaders since the 1990s. After decades of experience with electric loaders and batteries, they realized there was no battery pack in the world that would be perfectly optimized for compact loaders. Therefore, they decided to start making batteries themselves.

Avant Power has launched two new generation OptiTemp battery packs for the new full-electric Avant e5-27 and e5-13 models. These batteries bring efficiency and safety of electric loaders to the next level, making them unique on a global scale. The OptiTemp system inside the batteries keeps the temperature optimized, giving the same capacity in hot and freezing weather. The batteries work well even in very cold conditions (-30°C/-22°F), making them ideal for a range of industries.

The innovative thermal management system, along with the structure of the battery, allows for rapid charging. With a rapid charger, the battery can be fully charged in just 1.5 hours, enabling long workdays. Also, there is no risk of propagation or flame leakage outside the battery device, ensuring absolute safety.
